Cortex QR Codes
All Cortex M1 Hub units are shipped with QR code labels. It is important that installers and boat builders remove the QR code labels from the packaging and keep them in a safe place for future reference.
These labels are printed as a sticker. There are 3 printed on a removable label and another is attached to the inside of the box.
The QR code is useful for fast pairing of the M1 with the Cortex Onboard and Cortex Monitor apps. The first time you use the apps it will prompt you to scan the code. This is generally only required once as the apps will remember the connection details for next time, but you can stick the QR code somewhere handy so other devices coming onboard (e.g. a crew members phone) can easily connect to the Cortex Network.
The label also displays the Cortex Network SSID and password in a readable format. These are factory set and cannot be changed. An H1 handset will come pre-paired, but these details can be used to connect an H1P, an additional H1, phone, tablet or laptop to the Cortex Network.
The SSID and password details are also on the permanent serial label on the underside of the M1 hub, but the labels are supplied for convenience, and as an extra precaution it may be a good idea to take a photo of the QR code to keep a digital copy in a safe place, for future use.
